Dawes (feat. The Morning Benders) - When My Time Comes
This is seriously one of the best songs written in the 2000s, and a solid live take on it.
These guys’ last album, North Hills, kicked some major butt - and the first track to be released from their next album (Nothing Is Wrong, due out in June) was released today. I’ve heard the track live, and the studio version translated really well - it’s called If I Wanted Someone, and you can download it for free on their site. If you get the chance to have this group coming through your town, don’t miss their show; I’ve seen them at least two or three times now and they haven’t disappointed yet.
On a related note, if you want a good time killer, Yours Truly (where this is from) ought to be able to keep you busy with some great live videos. The Kills one on there was pretty enjoyable - they were one of my favorite acts I caught at Coachella…but more on that later this weekend when I finally pull down some photos.
